I am happy to commemorate today August 4th as “BONE & JOINT DAY” initiated by IOA (Indian Orthopedic Association), so as to make people understand the importance of healthy bones and joints.

On this occasion, let’s look at a few BASIC TIPS on how “Each One Save One” the theme for this year's Bone and Joint Day, can make a huge difference to Save One on the Road/ Home/at Work Place Accidents.
- BUCKLE UP! Wear a Seat- Belt while driving and never-ever forget to do so.
- Wear a Complete Helmet to avert a disaster. Just remind yourselves before you hop on to your two-wheeler.

“Don't give or make a Person Drink Water after an Accident”

“Turn the person to their LEFT SIDE if they are unconscious”
Splint the Broken Limb in case the limb is broken. Give support with a paper roll, thick stick or locally available material, till the patient reaches the hospital.

- Apply Pressure on Bleeding Areas with cloth, bandage or any available material to cease the blood loss.
- Cold Ice Pack should be applied to the affected areas of swelling from an injury. DO NOT apply hot pack.
